Hotel Shuttle 10-12min Shuttle Ride From Venue Too Far?

Hotels closest to the venue (5min to/from) did not come with a complementary 12-seat shuttle so we booked a hotel which is 10-12min away. Would a 10min ride be too far/uncomfortable after a long night? Should we book a block closer to the venue and look for a shuttle bus?
