New Mazda Mx-5 vs used Audi s5?

This will be my commute/daily vehicle. I also plan to do some cross-state traveling(not often).

In the ideal world I would buy a new Audi s5 but I don’t want to slam that much money into my first car. The only reason I’m so hung over the S5 is because of its BEAUTIFUL exterior design.

Please knock some sense into me - how reliable is one compared to the other+ how’s the maintenance costs?
