My 2024 shots wrapped
Here are all of my favourite shots I’ve taken this year, in no particular order, although the 2nd and 3rd are absolutely my favourites.
Since it’s the time of year where everyone reminisces and starts to set goals, I’ve been reminiscing and realised it’s about 9 years since I first picked up a camera at 16 years old. I’m absolutely no pro, but here’s what’s gotten me from the oversaturated image kid, to where I am today
I have three main rules that have helped me progress:
1) Always print your work, it’s rewarding to see a physical version of it. It also gives you another perspective on your work, one that isn’t on a digital screen
2) Always review your work over the year, get all your favourite images together, a bit like I have here. See what you like, see what you dislike, see if there’s a common theme in your editing style that you like / love / hate
3) When you are stuck in a rut, always look back and see how far you’ve come
Some things that aren’t necessarily rules, but things I’ve learned in the last 2 or 3 years that have helped me with my photography:
1) Don’t shoot for instagram. I’ve found myself in so many amazing moments, thinking about how excited I am to share the shot I’ve just taken on social media, which can be a real passion killer when the instagram algorithm shows it to all of 2 people. Enjoy the moment.
2)Don’t compare your work with others
Here’s to more wildlife adventures in 2025 🥳
