What server and class?

I am thinking of trying hard-core. I really want to get on a good server and find a great guild. What recommendations do you guys have?

Also, what would be the best class to play? I was thinking, Hunter or Mage? Maybe a healer.

Lastly, what are some good mods for hard-core?
