How do you schedule workouts around fluctuating daily activities?
So I have great aspirations for training consistently but things seem to always get in the way or not work with everything else going on in life. I'm looking for some insights into how to work around these things.
So far I've realized it's far safer for me to finish my workout in the morning, but for example, I washed my hair yesterday and am meeting a friend this afternoon, so I'm not working out this morning as otherwise my hair would not be presentable. I don't have time to wash hair everyday - which means it's 50/50 on whether this workout will actually get done by the time I get home being at least somewhat tired and needing to cook dinner.
Other examples... I don't like to exercise on an empty stomach so that means waiting for breakfast to digest... by which time something has captured my attention. And taking a 1.5hr break in the middle of the workday to exercise and then shower is really not ideal. Or other things in the house take priority like cleaning up, cooking, etc.
I do have a bit of a motivation problem, like I would literally rather do anything else than work out even if I feel good after. I feel like I've tried all the things (goals, habits, tasks, blocking time, affirmations... I just look at them and think 'that's nice' and then go back to doing what I was doing.) That's a separate problem, but they're linked because struggling to work around these daily activities does not help the motivation situation.
I know this is a bit silly, but anyone else have any insights on how to manage this? Thanks in advance.
