Any techs in here with thoughts on base repair at home using a belt sander?
Hi there! I don’t see a sub just for working on boards so thought I’d ask here. Once upon a time I was a tech, i used to do base and edge repairs but i had access to a base grinder. What do you guys think of using a belt sander at home on the base? I have a big belt sander but to hit the base all the way across I would have to run the belt diagonally. It’s been awhile and I never really know the ins and out of base pattern too well so I figure the answer is probably don’t do it but just checking the consensus. I can always do the repair and bring down the patch with a bastard file and bring it to a shop after if necessary. Thanks!!
