Baha'i History - May 14, 2008, Members of the Yaran, an ad hoc administrative group formed by the Baha'i Administrative Order in Iran, were arrested. On August 29, 1983 the government had banned all Bahá'í administrative activities, requiring the dissolution of about 400 LSAs and the NSA.

May 12. On this date in 1869, Hand of the Cause of God Clara Dunn was born in London, England. She was raised in Canada and moved to the United States in 1902, where she became a Bahá'í. In 1919, along with her husband John Henry Hyde Dunn, Clara Dunn introduced the Bahá'í Faith to Australia.

May 12. On this date in 1943, Shoghi Effendi cabled Argentine Bahá'ís he was "delighted (at the) completion (and) dedication (of the) Maxwell Memorial," which was dedicated to his mother-in-law who had died there three years previously of a heart attack. Shoghi Effendi declared her a martyr.
