I'm a daughter. And the reason I resisted is because of how he and my mom talked about our dad and how much it was pushed. He didn't let it happen naturally and he tried to be too strict about it. Like when he tried to make us call him dad in their house. We knew and had a great relationship with our dad. There was nothing missing from our lives. Our dad was a great dad. There was no good reason for them to act like he was less than but they did and it wasn't for us, it was for their own selfish reasons to try and have a family without having kids together.

I think you are the asshole if your mother and stepdad have done NOTHING to u but try to be a family you and your brother suck u can love your dad without shitting on your mom and her husband that’s trying. You guys sound bitter and immature for no reason. There was no abuse. Just bitterness that mom and dad are divorced. Get over it it sounds like you have 3 loving parents but you are shutting two out for WHY?
