"didn't think much of it, just a cold sore." FYI cold sores ARE herpes. If you see a cold sore, the person has oral herpes, period. Canker sores are triggered by biting your lips, eating too much salt/citrus and occur inside the mouth. Those are not herpes.

Herpes tests are misleading. You've been in contact with someone who has herpes so you're going to come up positive because those tests show you've been exposed. That doesn't actually mean you have herpes though because it can stay dormant which means you never experience or spread it. You can only spread it during an outbreak and that's why your BF sucks. I'm sure he knew that he was having one, and he still pressured you to have unprotected sex knowing that was the exact moment he was able to spread it. Lots of couples are able to spend entire lives together without ever passing it along by simply refraining from sex during outbreaks.

Oh wow I actually didn’t know that! All I heard when testing that I should was 12 days before getting tested or else it won’t show up, i’ll definitely keep that in mind. Your right about that I found out he knew because the next day he said he said should told me. But yea it’s something to be careful about and should not be risked spreading.
