Has anyone ever used 2 different scales on the same layout? Like... a Z in the background to look further away, or mb an N on an O track as a kids amusement ride? idk, just popped in my head

N-Scale model railroading, N-Scale trainsJust started looking at these in the last couple of days, and really liking the car (on paper, haven't test drove one yet)... but wtf is up with the boring color options? And secondly, how likely am I to find one of the green Hakone versions?
For anyone interested in the Toyota GR86 & Subaru BRZ ('22+).Well, my wknd went to shit. Just paid almost $300 for this set, with DCC decoders in both. Tested both, ran good. Put the B on my test track, changed address from existing 4 digit to a new 4 digit... and fried the decoder (or???). Doesn't read at all now.

A friendly place to discuss and show off all things saltwater aquarium related!I have this ScaleTrains rivet counter GEVO... fantastic loco, crazy slow speed. But I HATE the coupler. OMG what pile of shit. Coupled to micro-trains it decouples on every right hand turn. It seems like the return spring is way too stiff.. how fucked am I going to be if I pull the springs out?

Ok, guys and gals... my version of the Chicago L is now available for downloading .stl's. It's done in only 22 files, so you will have to mirror them for other direction, reuse some of the pcs a lot. Feel free to give me feedback, Ill update when needed.

Does anyone know if this is the newer version that is DCC ready or the older that isn't?

N-Scale model railroading, N-Scale trainsWe've had a bit of a fire, but fortunately they got it out in time.
N-Scale model railroading, N-Scale trainsI've decided to add an elevated metro line on my set, something along the lines of the Chicago L. Some of it will be on "ground" but a significant portion would be elevated, with some of that actually directly above my mainline. What would be the best track for this?
N-Scale model railroading, N-Scale trainsBeen working on the weathering! The loco doesn't seem quite right yet, will keep working on it.
N-Scale model railroading, N-Scale trainsThese are Atlas/Rivarossi C&NW. 3 styles here, passenger, baggage and roomette. Their Atlas numbers are 2641, 2642 and 2644. I cannot find ANY diners or dome cars in this series. Other brands, sure, but not these lighted Atlas. Can anyone confirm they were made?

Need some help from the masters. I have a Con Cor PA1, says DCC ready, and spookshow.com says it works with decoder DB-143IP. Digitrax says that's been replaced by DN-146IP so that's what I bought. More below
