During the June 1943 Zoot Suit Riots, Mexican American boys were stripped and thrashed by US Navy personnel. Children, teens, and young people wearing zoot suits were attacked and stripped by American servicemen who viewed the garments, which were made of a lot of fabric, as being unpatriotic.
