I have a feeling my sister came to her own conclusion based on what my paternal grandmother used to say. That my mom wanted to be “free” and didn’t want the responsibilities that came with being married. And my dad didn’t want to hold her down against her will. Which I can see that… but she was a pretty good parent and dad always used to tell my grandma to stop being silly whenever she said this. My sister only got really bad after my mom got remarried (she also got pregnant right away so it was back to back blows for her).
