I'll absolutely admit that some attacks in the game are "too fast" to react to, but only that the swing of the attack itself is too fast. The animation leading up to the attack is where you have to look for hints. If that arm attack example is the one I'm thinking of, after enough time fighting the boss, I learned to watch it's feet for that attack specifically. On the third(or second, it's been week since I last fought him) step of his animation is when I hit the block button to perfect parry his wide arm sweep. I don't even know where his arm is at that point of the animation to confirm or deny anything, but that mentality is what I try to use when facing the bosses I don't like fighting and still have trouble dealing with.

Ye, to clarify, I'm not having issues with the boss. It's relatively easy to deal with, with the telegraphs that you are describing. My point is that there is no benefit to the delay imo so I don't see why people advocate so heavily for it. Lets use your above example, what you are describing is pattern memorization. You aren't really actively interacting (I need to stress I completely get that to some people that is fine gameplay), but at the end of the day there is 0 way you can skillfully determine the actual swing of that based on the lead up. You can guess or you can memorize it, but at the end of the day its a guess not a reactive interaction.

Its not quite the same thing. Bare with me with this example, but I think it illustrates it pretty well.

"I'm not sure why people claim deflecting in sekiro is different." It very much is. The perfect parry timing in lies of p is so far in advance you could celebrate christmas and new years in the time inbetween when you press block and when the attack connects. This is really easily seen in the 2nd boss (boss after the donkey mask). If you press parry as either of his hands are in the air BEFORE HE EVEN STARTS HIS SWING, that is a perfect parry. That is ridiculous. Its like playing fancy memory match and telling yourself its interactive and reactable gameplay. Because if you needed to press block before the attack is even moving, how would you interact with that in a non artificial way, as you would be missing the variable of speed.
