Advice on rental costs?

You shouldn't choose an area down the road from your parents and also pay short term leasing. $1800 for a 3 month commitment is fantastic.

Sorry, maybe it was not clear but it’s 1800 per month so $5400 total. Probably not that bad still. Staying with my parents is unfortunately not an option.

Yes, $1800/month was clear. I paid $1700 for a pretty nice studio in Raleigh, NC. I constantly see people on "travel contracts" somehow making much less. That's not a good contract and sounds like a local permanent staff contract. The travel contracts have high non-taxable stipends. When I was making $1800/week with $1200 being non-tax stipends, my net pay was $1775 or so. Idk what everybody else is talking themselves into that $1800/month becomes so unaffordable, but a travel contract has a majority of untaxed pay.

Yeah, doesn’t really seem all that bad to me if I’m getting 2k per week. I definitely can’t pay my rent on one week of pay as a staff nurse so it’s kind of unfathomable. I guess I got a bit worried when more experienced traveler friends said it was a rip off. To be honest things have just gone up in price lately, so I think I’ll just go for it. Thanks
